What do the members of AzPHA do?

Our members have many choices of how to participate in our association.

  • Committees or “Sections” on environmental health, epidemiology, gerontology, health administration, research and planning, health disparities and many other topics are available. Click on “Membership” at the left of the screen to see the many ways to contribute to the public health professional community.
  • We advocate for public health legislation at the state and national level, and provide expert testimony during legislative hearings. We also educate policy makers and decision makers regarding public health concerns.
  • We support grassroots coalitions and community efforts in favor of improved public health, publish reports and white papers such as our “Living and Dying in Arizona” series, collaborate with other health-related organizations, and provide speakers, workshops and forums on public health issues.
  • Our conferences bring national speakers from the American Public Health Association (APHA), and other well-respected institutions. AzPHA is a nationally recognized affiliate of APHA and is the largest professional health association in Arizona. Click on “Conferences” for more information on our next scheduled conference.
